The Rest is Noise: Pan Daijing & Torus
The Rest is Noise is op vrijdag 16 maart aanwezig op Opera Forward Festival en nodigt één van de meest spraakmakende artiesten van dit moment uit: Pan Daijing. Zij is autodidact, zelfverklaard buitenstaander, muzikant, performer, kunstenaar en verhalenverteller. Ze groeide op in het Zuidwesten van China en woont sinds 2016 in Berlijn.
Pan Daijng is vooral bekend om haar live-improvisaties, die haar toeschouwers op zeer persoonlijke manier raken. Haar veelgeprezen debuutalbum Lack kwam vorig jaar uit op het toonaangevende PAN uit Berlijn. Momenteel ontwikkelt zij een multidisciplinaire opera én is bezig met een nieuw album. Intussen vindt ze ook nog tijd voor een performance speciaal voor deze avond.
Na Pan Daijing draait Torus één van zijn trance-opwekkende sets.

On Friday March 16th The Rest is Noise is coming to Opera Forward Festival and brings one of the most exciting figures in the current avant-garde: Pan Daijing is a self-taught, self-proclaimed outsider who makes music, art, and tells stories. Born and raised in Guiyang, Southwest China, she has been living in Berlin since 2016.
The artist is best known for her live improvisations, famously engaging attendees in highly personal ways. She has released an acclaimed debut album, Lack, on PAN, and is currently constructing a multidisciplinary new opera, as well as her next LP. In the meantime she also finds time to create a special performance for The Rest is Noise & Opera Froward Festival.
The evening will conclude with a trance-inducing dj-set by Torus.
